LNS, LNS... where fore art thou LNS?

Hampshire really is a stitching wilderness. There really are very few shops within a 30 mile radius of where I live. I know of ONE shop in my city that sells DMC threads and a few kits, all at full price of course! Other than that there's a Hobbycraft about 20 miles away, or a small, dark, dingy store about 7 miles away that doesn't have a wide range, never has models on display & sells everything at full price without ever having a sale. No, maybe thats not fair - in all honesty I haven't frequented it enough to ever see if there is a sale! But, all in all, there is really not an LNS at all, which is shocking in a city of this size. The best one was again, about 20 miles away & the owner was lovely - always very happy to help, but we went to visit one day & whoosh! All the window displays had gone, the lights weren't on & there was definately nobody home. The doors were locked up good & proper. Sadly, they'd gone out of business without a whisper of warning. Therefore, my stitchy friend has decreed that we have a stitchy day out at a well recommended store. Yes, ok, we might have to drive a couple of hours to get there, but what the heck - we can be ladies that lunch & everything that goes with it!! I'm looking forward to our trip, so we must compare diaries and soon.

On a more positive note, I've been slowly working on Mirabilia's Royal Holiday. I soooo love the dark raspberry colour in her cloak. She's going to be a stunner when she's finished :o)

It's always sad to see a LNS go out of business like that. Hope you have fun going to the not-so-LNS :-)

I can sympathize with you about not having an LNS. In my city there are a couple of general craft stores who have small cross-stitch sections, but no shop that focuses solely on cross stitch. I have to drive an hour and a half to get to a city that has two shops. Wish they could send one of them my way!

I also don't really have any LNS near me :( We have a few Craft stores.
I did discover that there is one about 20 minutes away, but I haven't gotten to it yet. The others are all more then an hour away from me.

Hope you have a great with your friend when you do go shopping! And I can't wait to hear all about it :)
