Never Run With Scissors

I've been blogging for a couple of weeks now, so its time to address the title of my Blog. Apart from being a bit of a tie-in with cross stitch, its become my catchphrase to most people that know me.

It started several years ago when not everyone had a home computer & my friend was lucky enough to twist her husband's arm into getting one for her! In this computer stone age I was quite amazed to hear that on Word for Windows you got a tip of the day to help you in your word processing each & every day. This may have been amazing enough, but one day my friend told me of a curious thing... she had gone into Word & seen the tip of the day which was (cue fanfare) 'Never run with scissors'!!!! I guess some wag at Microsoft decided to make the tips a bit more entertaining :o) This 'tip' appealed to our odd sense of humour & I have made use of it ever since. Even going as far as an Indian restaurant, where the food was not up to its usual standard & in an alcohol-infused haze, we decided to leave the richest tip in the world: we wrote on a paper serviette 'Tip: never run with scissors' & nothing else! How we left without having hysterics, I really don't know.

So, when I pondered over what I should name my Blog... just one title came to mind & the rest, as they say, is history ;o)
